Cross Country
Many students performed well at the South of England cross country championships. Excellent performances from Maddie Wise, Ryan Cherian, Ingmar Gunn, Phoebe Barker, Clara Tyler and Cameron Roberts who all finished in the top ten of their races at the Kent Schools Cross Country Championships.
Football and squash
There were some good wins for the 1st and 4th XI football and for the boys’ 1st squash team versus Worth School at the weekend.
Netball
There are so many successful fixtures to mention but particular congratulations go to the U14A side which beat Eastbourne 46-10, an incredible score in netball.
Swimming
Congratulations to Ellie Vowell who competed in the Kent County Swimming Championships on Sunday 31 January, winning gold medals for age 13 girls the 100m and 200m freestyle, silver medals for the age 13 girls 100m backstroke and 200m backstroke, silver in the 400m individual medley and bronze medal in the girls open 400m freestyle.
Additionally, Lily Snell won junior and open age group 100m freestyle long course in 58.77 secs just 0.3 of a sec shy of a 2nd Olympic trials time. This places Lily 8th in the USA age rankings. Lily has just been accepted into the National Youth squad based at the London Olympic pool (LAC performance centre).
Tennis
The mixed doubles senior team have qualified for the national finals.
