Sporting Highlights

A very successful and enjoyable term, with many individual and team successes and 99% representation in the Lower School.

Sevenoaks has had a very successful term. We have won 58.2% of all fixtures played, 77% representation across all year group, including 99% in the Lower School. 

A huge thanks to everyone involved in sport this term; it has been immensely enjoyable!

Badminton

We beat Tonbridge at U18 and U16 level, and the teams overall have won 70% of their matches this term.

Cricket

Coco Streets has been selected for the 2018 Sussex Cricket Girls’ Academy and Emerging Players Programme. She made an unbeaten 83 for Sussex U15 in 2017.

Cross country

Phoebe Barker ran for GB U20 at the European Cross Country Championships, finishing 42nd and fifth GB runner while her team won team gold. Chris Olley (OS 2014) also ran in the U23 race where his team finished third.

Hockey

The U16A won their weekend matches to remain unbeaten for the season, along with the 2nd XI. It has been a top season for hockey.

Netball

Congratulations to Isabelle Fox who has been called up to the U16 County Squad.

Rugby

We held a fundraising rugby dinner last week, with two auctions, a curry buffet and a guest speaker (Andy Goode, former England player) which was enjoyed by a large number of students, parents, Old Sennockians and staff. We raised £5500 was raised, of which half will be given to the Wooden Spoon Charity and half will fund the school’s international rugby tour.

Sailing

Josh Davies has been nominated for the Yachts and Yachting Achievement of the Year for breaking the 30-year round the Isle of Wight optimist world record.

Swimming

Congratulations to Louis Hayes who is now ranked #1 in GB for 100IM and also holds the all-time Kent records in his age group for 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 100m IM and 200m IM.
