Sporting Highlights

Including a listing in The Cricketer's top 100 schools, reaching the national hockey finals, excellent performances at the national cross country finals and some exciting individual selections.

Good luck this week to our students competing in competitions and tournaments: the U13 hockey team in the regional finals, the U16 hockey side in the county indoor competition, the 1st hockey team in the third round of the Tier 2 competition, the U15 football team in round 4 of the Kent Cup and the Squash team in the Surrey schools’ competition.

Cricket

Sevenoaks School is one of The Cricketer’s top 100 cricket schools in the country.

Cross country

Huge congratulations to our inter boys on their performance at the national finals. They finished eighth out of 28 finalists and out of 325 teams nationally over the competition. 

The inter girls also made a brilliant effort, finishing sixth out of 27 finalists and out of 355 teams nationally over the competition.

Fencing

Piero Steiner has been called to represent Italy at the European Cadets competitions in Bonn and Copenhagen this month; a fantastic achievement.

Football

In the first fixture of the new ISFA champions league, the girls’ team beat a very strong Ardingly School.

Hockey

Congratulations to the U16 and U14 teams who are through to the national finals after fantastic days at the regional finals. The 2nd XI finished second at the regional finals in a brilliant effort against three other 1st XI sides.

Netball

The U14s are county champions and progress to the regionals. The U19s finished a creditable third place and the U16s finished sixth.

Riding

Our show-jumping team of Harry Scott, Mia Stack and Anabelle Crickmore won the 80cm class at the NSEA competition. Harry, Anabelle, Abi Scott and Dean Milligan also finished fifth in the 90cm class.

Swimming

Louis Hayes has qualified as one of the youngest boys in seven events for the 2018 Swim England National Winter Championship, the biggest English swimming meet of the winter months. His events include the 100m butterfly with an Olympian among the other competitors.

Water polo

Allegra Cuomo has been selected for the U14 South East England water polo team.
