Sporting Highlights

Some excellent results at the national inter-counties cross country and a great week for swimming, squash, rugby and fencing.

Athletics

Katie Willis won a bronze medal at the Kent Indoor Athletics Championships yesterday at Lee Valley in the U15 girls shot-put. She threw three PBs and extended her PB by 78cm.

Cross country

Alex Evans came 44th and Teniqua Gomez 213th out of 350 runners at the national inter-counties cross country. Our senior girls also did well with Meghan Watson coming 141st and Clara Tyler 187th.

Fencing

Piero Steiner won the U16 Epee event at the South East championship, qualifying for the British championship in Sheffield in May. Hikaru Tonetti also performed well, coming seventh in the same event. Amelie Tsang finished first in the Mount-Haes Foil category at the Public Schools’ Fencing Championships. Congratulations to all three competitors.

Netball

In last week’s fixtures, our netball teams had 10 wins out of 12 versus Bishop’s Stortford.

Rugby Sevens

Sevenoaks had a great day at the U14 Reigate Sevens, reaching the quarter finals and beating John Fisher and Judd in the group stages.

Squash

The 1st team did brilliantly in the Division 1 Roehampton Tournament after being promoted from Division 2 last year, finishing sixth overall. This tournament involves the very best squash schools in the country including Eton, Harrow and Epsom.

Swimming

At the Tonbridge Trophy, Sevenoaks finished second behind Harrow ahead of Tonbridge and Reed’s.

Riding

Mia Stack came eighth out of 72 competitors at the British Riding Clubs (BRC) Arena Eventing Championships.
