James Emmitt
Director of PE and Sport, Head of Squash
James was born in Sevenoaks and attended Gravesend Grammar School, before studying for his teaching degree in Physical Education at St Mary's College, Twickenham. He taught at Chatham Grammar School for four years before being appointed teacher of PE and Head of Football at Sevenoaks School in 2007. James became Director of PE and Sport at Sevenoaks in 2013. In addition to his leadership role, he coaches 1st team cricket and football as well as the U14A rugby team. Since joining Sevenoaks, James has run five marathons and holds a current personal best of 3 hours and 8 minutes, achieved at Brighton 2015.
