As one of the strongest schools for girls hockey in the South East, our teams across all age groups are dominant at the Kent County tournament, which allows us to regularly compete at regional level and above. Our experienced coaches and young talent has allowed and encouraged many of our players to progress through the county and JRPC programme, to HiPAC, Futures Cup and NAGS Academies.

From the moment girls arrive at the school we instil in them the values of teamwork; the desire to be part of a team, to play and work for one another, to win and lose together, share the ups and downs and to be proud to wear a Sevenoaks shirt.

This ethos has been instrumental in developing a very strong hockey programme over the past ten years. We are proud to field 22 teams on a weekly basis during the Michaelmas term, which provides magnificent opportunities for all abilities. We enjoy a strong fixture list against the likes of Cranleigh, Eastbourne College, King’s Canterbury, Wellington College and Epsom College as well as many others.

Competitive sports are played mainly on a five-and-a-half-inch court; the space between your ears.

Boys hockey is also growing year on year with over 30 students in Y11 and the Sixth Form participating, and a side which competes against other schools within the Lent term.

Alongside our fixtures we have enjoyed tours to Australia, South Africa, Belgium, Holland and the UK. We place a significant value on the experience gained from young players touring, not only from a hockey development view but also establishing friendships, camaraderie and fantastic memories that stay with players long after they leave the school.

As well as weekly training during age group games afternoons, teams will also have an additional practice after school to fine-tune their skills and tactics!
