Basketball is a fast-paced team sport. Whilst it is a non-contact sport it is very physically demanding. Players must perfect their offensive and defensive skills to be a successful team player.

Basketball is a flourishing sport at Sevenoaks School, which boasts impressive basketball facilities including two competition-sized courts.

The boys’ teams successfully compete in the London Independent Schools Basketball League (LISBA) at Under 19 level. The teams are coached by Mr Dimitris Korentzelos from the nationally renowned Sevenoaks Suns basketball club. The boys practise twice a week and fixtures are played in the Michaelmas and Lent terms. The school has strong links with the Sevenoaks Suns Basketball Club which provides opportunities for players to develop their skills throughout the year.

Our current and former students have competed for regional, national and US university basketball teams.

The sport at Sevenoaks has taught me how to enjoy success, learn from failure and how important team-mates are!
