Shooters achieve England selection and retain NSRA shields

Congratulations to Cecilia Catuogno-Cal and Gabriel Shaft who have been selected for the British Schools England Team for the National Match against Scotland, Wales, Ireland and the Channel Isles. These two leading members of our squad have worked tremendously hard to achieve this selection, and many years of training has made this possible. 

NSRA Shields

We have secured the National Smallbore Rifle Association Main and Junior National Roll of Marksman Shield for a seventh and sixth year respectively.

The competition runs from January to December each year and we had to cram everyone’s targets into the second half of Michaelmas term. Mobilising the club was a massive task but we were not prepared to just give these shields away by not entering.

The final result was below our usual standard and we only just retained the Junior Shield by having one more entrant, and two points, than the Hampshire Scouts who came second in both this and the Main Shield. However, with our run intact and our new range in operation we look forward to seeing the club back to its former strength and onward to setting new national record scores.
