We were delighted to welcome a delegation of five teachers from Shanghai High School to Sevenoaks School this week. They visited to observe classes and meet with academic colleagues, and to further develop the growing relationship between the two schools.
This follows a Sevenoaks School visit to Shanghai in June, when Katy Ricks and other members of staff hosted an IB conference for the leading IB schools in Shanghai and Beijing.
Sevenoaks and Shanghai High School are exploring opportunities for teacher and student exchange to foster cross-cultural understanding, global cooperation and the development of new collaborative initiatives to enhance and extend students’ learning opportunities. Areas of future collaboration will include Chinese language and culture and STEM education.
The very successful visit was coordinated by Mark Beverley, Director of the Institute of Teaching and Learning and Yingxu Yin, Head of Mandarin.
