Sevenoaks School is The Sunday Times Independent Secondary School of the Year 2018.
The award is part of The Sunday Times Parent Power review, and the ranking is based not only on a school’s academic achievement but also includes co-curricular activities, parent feedback and the success of former pupils.
This is the second time Sevenoaks School has won the accolade in ten years. As well as being recognised for its academic excellence, Sevenoaks School is noted for its inspirational environment and the opportunities it offers pupils outside the classroom.
Alastair McCall, editor of Parent Power, said: ‘Consistent academic excellence lies behind Sevenoaks’ triumph in our premier independent schools’ award, 10 years on from its previous title success. Under the dynamic leadership of Katy Ricks, the school has gone from strength to strength and offers its pupils an outstanding environment in which they can develop, both inside the classroom and out. Inspiration drives aspiration in this school, which thoroughly deserves its latest accolade.’
Katy Ricks, Head of Sevenoaks, said: ‘We are delighted to win this prestigious award for a second time and it is testament to the hard work of everyone who makes Sevenoaks School an outstanding and pioneering educational environment.’
Well done to all students, staff and parents.
