2017 inspection report states: ‘The quality of the pupils’ achievements and learning is excellent.’ And ‘The quality of the pupils’ personal development is excellent.’
The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) has awarded Sevenoaks School the highest grade of ‘Excellent’ for both its students’ achievements and personal development, and found the school fully compliant following a Regulatory Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection of the school in December 2017.
The inspectors were impressed by the achievements of our pupils: “Pupils’ achievements in a wide range of curricular and co-curricular aspects is outstanding.” They were impressed by the school’s strong ethos and “pupils’ outstanding attitude to learning.”
The character and quality of our distinctive curriculum was recognised: “The school’s imaginative curriculum, with its emphasis on variety and individuality, has a very positive impact on the pupils approach to their studies.” They note that as a result, “Pupils quickly become highly articulate.”
The report also drew attention to the pupils’ attitudes to their school life and the wider world: “One of the most significant reasons for the pupils’ excellent personal development is their unassuming self-confidence and their high levels of focus and self-discipline.” They found that “pupils contribute exceptionally well to the lives of others,” and appreciated the “pervading sense of service and community.”
Katy Ricks, the Head, said, “We are delighted that the exceptional achievement of our pupils and teachers has been praised so strongly. The inspectors appreciated the innovative nature and international spirit of our education, which means students leave the school very well prepared for university and adult life.”
