During the last week of Easter Mrs Day kindly took a group of around 24 students, all of whom study Spanish at either higher or standard level, to Santiago as part of an exchange with Colexio Manuel Peleteiro, something that she has been running for many years with great success.
The eight days were action-packed with all sorts of activities and day trips ranging from making tortilla Española in the school kitchen to visiting the famous cathedral in the city centre as well as learning pandereta and walking around the vineyards of Pazo Baión.
Although the weather was erratic at times this didn’t stop any of us from enjoying the day trips to many different places and it just meant that we appreciated the sun even more when it finally appeared through the clouds! Overall it was an amazing experience and a great opportunity to practise our Spanish with our host families, whilst also having the chance to enjoy the culture of another country with our peers.
