On Sunday 2 December, a crisp, chilly and slightly drizzly winter’s morning, 11 Lower Sixth Russianists travelled up to Victoria Park in London to take part in a 10km race. To make this even more challenging, all competitors were required to complete the distance dressed in full Santa outfits.

This is the seventh year in a row that Sixth Form Russianists have taken part in the Santa Run, and in the past seven years over £17,000 has been raised. The money goes to Ecologia, a charity supporting orphans in Russia, including some communities that we plan to visit in April.

The Sevenoaks students showed great spirit, humour and determination, and acquitted themselves excellently around the course, alongside 4000 other people dressed as Father Christmas. Ryan Cherian actually won the race, and everyone else was back within an hour and 20 minutes, which was a tremendous effort.

Over £2200 has been raised so far, and we are hoping to raise over £2500. The fundraising page will be open until the end of February and you can track our progress here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/7OaksSanta2018
