Sevenoaks had a very successful weekend at Bristol sailing at Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club for the RS Feva Inland National Championships, finishing with some excellent results.
Fifty-five boats were entered, with the top boats from around the country competing, including the current GBR team on a tricky race course. Sevenoaks School had the biggest team entry from any school at the regatta with seven boats flying the school flag. For many of the Year 9 and 10 sailors this was only their second regatta, so they are currently going through a very steep learning curve.
The weekend had some very positive points – for example, on race 2 at mark number 1 we held positions of 2nd, 6th, 12th and 18th, which is very impressive and shows strong signs of the potential within the group. The whole team conducted themselves brilliantly over the two very long days and were a pleasure to have on the trip.
Overall results from the six races:
4th Matthew Caiger 24th Anne-Marie Ratnage & Issy Willis 28th Ned Geake & Zayna Mansuri 30th Elias Marchetti & Federico Roma 38th Nicholas Davies & Finn Tyndall 44th William Powell & Ben Hancox-Lachman 46th Alice Parker & Ellie Wild
