Sevenoaks students took part in the regional round of the English Schools Athletic Association Cross Country Cup at The Judd School on Saturday, gaining some outstanding results.

The Sevenoaks junior girls came first out of 14 teams (67 runners) from across the South East by an impressive 26 points. This qualifies them for the national final at Sevenoaks School on 25 November. Anais Fernandez-Laaksonen took third place.

The junior boys came fourth out of 15 teams (73 runners), with Zach Raymond in ninth place and Tom Phillips finishing 14th, just missing out on qualifying.

The inter girls came second out of 14 teams (59 runners), also qualifying for the national final. Maddie Wise finished fifth.

The inter boys came fifth out of 13 teams (64 runners). They just missed out on qualification.

Special mention to two Year 9 students who ran very well against students who were mostly a year older than them: Teniqua Gomez had a great run, finishing 17th out of 59 in the inter girls race as our third counter, while Fin Croll came a very impressive eighth out of 64 in the inter boys.

All students ran superbly and the girls are now eagerly looking forward to the final.
