Pupils from St Stephen's primary school enjoy morning of robotics and electronics

Our Director of Outreach visited St Stephen’s primary school in Tonbridge this week, and spent the morning with a group of Year 3, 4 and 5 students. The children were shown NAO the robot, and spent time discussing how he works and his various components before a five-minute dancing session with NAO. The students then made a temporary circuit with a light-emitting diode, and then used an Arduino to program it to flash, followed by a tri-colour LED which changed from blue to red, to green depending on how they wired it to the circuit, or how they programmed it. The students were then introduced briefly to other sensors like ultrasonics, accelerometers, cameras, microphones, touch sensitive paint and other switches. A very enjoyable morning for all.
