Digital Communications from school to home
In line with the school's strategy to streamline communications, Sevenoaks School uses a range of digital methods to bring information to parents in ways that are:
- fast, especially if you're overseas
- efficient, by grouping letters to the right parents at the right time
- in line with the school's environmental policies by reducing paper-based information
Parents of pupils joining the school automatically receive email messages to the main email address provided. Please contact the School Office if you would like to receive emails to more than one account, providing full details. It might be helpful for you to know that emails are sent from firstname.lastname@example.org in case you wish to adjust spam filters.
The Parent Portal is a confidential site for parents only, giving each parent online access to their child(ren)'s academic reports, grades and comments as well as their timetable and teaching groups. Login details are sent to new parents during September of the year a child joins, in plenty of time for the first set of academic reports later in the term.
Contract for Responsible Use of IT
All students are asked to sign up to the school's Contract for Responsible Use of IT during their time at Sevenoaks School. They are therefore asked to sign the IT Services: Terms and Conditions.
The contract and its terms and conditions are updated routinely and the latest copy will be available on Parent Pages here and on the school's learning platform (Firefly) for students.
An Information Systems Strategy
Sevenoaks School has developed a strategy for the school-wide use of Information Systems. The strategy identifies the positive steps we have already taken over the past few years, considers opportunities for the future development of ICT and defines a prioritised and costed list of projects to support the entire school community.
