Lower Sixth French Exchange to Lyon

Over half term the Lower Sixth took part in a French exchange to Lyon, it was a very busy but a very pleasant week.  They visited the old town, the musée des Beaux- Arts, the musée des Confluences, the Centre Historique de la Résistance et de la Déportation. Whilst they were there, they were very privileged to meet and ask questions to a lady who was a hidden child of the Holocaust. They also spent a whole day in Avignon in Provence.  As well as this they also attended a cooking course:  not only did they cook a cod crumble with risotto and a chocolate feuillantine but were also taught how to chop vegetables and to serve dishes like real professionals!

The students had plenty of opportunities to practise their French:  they spent all evenings and the weekend in families, some even went to Paris.  It was a linguistic challenge for some but they definitely all came back more confident and with a wider knowledge of French culture.
