Sporting Highlights 19 March 2018

We had a good week for sport but several fixtures were cancelled because of the snow. The coming week will be very busy, with county netball, final football placings to be confirmed and national rugby sevens competitions.

Cross country

Maddie Wise, Fin Croll, Carlotta Weitzel, Grace Fleming and Phoebe Barker all represented Kent at the nationals on Saturday in Leeds.

Fencing

At the British Public Schools Fencing Championship, Woser Prosser won gold in the Boys’ Mount-Haes Foil category, JP Shaw won his age category and Harry Couchman finished 24th out of 116 in the Junior Boys’ Epee. Fantastic achievements.

Football

The current league standings are as follows:

1st XI – 4th place
2nd XI – 4th place
U16 A – 1st place
U16 B – 1st place
U15 A – 2nd place
U15 B - 3rd place
U14 A – 2nd place
U14 B – 2nd place

Sport Relief

We are raising money for Sport Relief this week by accumulating everyone’s running, cycling and rowing mileage in an attempt to ‘reach’ Australia.

Wheelchair Rugby

We were delighted to welcome the GB Wheelchair Rugby Team to The Sennocke Centre last week. This superb and inspirational event was experienced by three Year 9 classes and some of our rugby teams. The Year 9s were shown how wheelchair rugby is played along with its different tactics and techniques. Thank you to Old Sennockian Roger Alwen (OS 1960) who was among the organisers.
