Music news 11 June 18

Congratulations to our first cohort of LCM exam-takers at the end of last half term who all achieved merits and distinctions, including two distinctions at Diploma level!

We held a successful run of concerts this week with Evensong, the Songwriters’ concert and the Year 10 SSC Platform. Looking ahead, next week we have the Lower School’s Musicians’ Platform (Monday 11 June), Informal Concert (Wednesday 13 June) and the Show of Support charity concert (Friday 15 June).

Eliza Ruffle (Year 7) performed at Carnegie Hall, New York for the American Protégé Summer Gala Concert on 6 June.

One of our VSU groups made their last visit of the academic year to Knole Academy, ending with a final end-of-year concert with their headmistress, Mrs Mary Boyle. Performances ranged from jazz to Disney to John Legend.

The Music department graduate assistant, Miss Yulia Vershinina, will play the Goldberg Variations in a festival at the Luxembourg Philharmonie with her duet partner, Miss Chiahu Lee, in support of a charity saving rainforests.
