We sent five teams to the regional finals of the English Schools Cross Country cup last Saturday. They all did really well, and the senior boys have qualified for the national finals in Leeds.
Our U13A side finished second at the UKSA tournament held at East Grinstead.
Our U14 netball side qualified for county finals day alongside the U16/U18 teams.
Ellie Allen was invited to be part of Telstars senior squad to play away at Exeter in the English National Premier League 2 division. This is the third tier of English Women's netball so a very high standard.
On Saturday our shooting team travelled to the National Shooting Centre at Bisley, Surrey, to compete in the English Schools’ Championships. Over 160 students from sixteen schools took part in the championships. In terms of experience, we have a very young team – the majority of them have been shooting for two years or less but they did brilliantly.
Alex Fleming (U6) won his age group and placed fourth overall; Helen Otto (U6) and Rafe Wormsley (Y11) also had a strong shoot, placing 12th and 13th respectively out of the overall 160+ competitors. In addition, Alex and Helen placed third in the senior pairs match – their score of 390 (out of 400) was only one point adrift from the winners. All eight Sevenoaks team members showed a mature attitude to overcoming any adversities that came their way during the match, and there was an impressive level of peer support amongst them – they worked together to support each other every single moment of the match, both on and off the firing point. A fantastic result for their first major match, and a credit to their school. We now look forward to our next match: the British Schools’ Open on 10 December.
Eva Okaro has been selected to the South East Region Team competing in Luxembourg in January.
Our junior boys and junior girls finished third at their respective regional finals last Thursday. The students did brilliantly against tennis specific academy schools.< Back
