Hockey

A number of Sevenoaks students played for HC Knole Park in the first round of the England Hockey Championships versus Premier League team East Grinstead, earning some valuable experience. Cath Nicholson (Head of Hockey) played for East Grinstead, so this was a great experience for our students to play against the top hockey players in the country.

Karting

Chloe Chong had a good week racing in Italy last week considering she was one of the only drivers without prior testing at the track (Adria Raceway). This is Chloe's first year in the Junior Rotax class so she is racing drivers with three or more years of experience in the Rotax Max Euro Trophy. She qualified 31st with only 0.7 seconds covering all 36 drivers. In the heats she was unlucky and was hit off the track several times but managed to finish 24th, beating her personal best times in every practice session and race.

Swimming

Eva Okaro had a brilliant time at the British Swimming meeting in Glasgow. She won the 50m freestyle with a European Junior Championship consideration time of 26.11s. She also won the 100m freestyle with a time of 56.95s.

Well done to Lara Bartleet who made her second attempt to swim the Channel on Sunday - this time a success! The sea was cold (13 degrees) but otherwise the conditions were perfect.

Good luck to Phoebe Critchlow who is also completing an English Channel relay swim to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK in memory of her grandfather. Fundraiser

Tennis

Serena Manca reached the semi-final of the U14 Girls Tennis Europe Competition at Wrexham.

Former student, Hugo Coquelin won the LTA Junior National Tennis Championships and now qualifies for Junior Wimbledon, an incredible achievement.

Matthew McLain competed in his first ever Tennis Europe international competition in Wrexham over the half term break. He and his partner won the 12U boys doubles!
