This week our U13 and U15 girls’ cricket teams will compete in the county finals of the Lady Taverners tournament; the U18 and U15 rugby squads will compete at the Kent Rugby Sevens; Sevenoaks swimmers are competing at the Olympic Pool on Friday in the Bath and Otter; and next weekend our senior mixed tennis side will compete at the national finals in Bolton.
Our U13 cricket side progressed through to the County finals day of the indoor Lady Taverners tournament.
There was a good fourth place finish for our U13 girls at the Danes Hill cross country event.
Very well done to the ten Lower School runners who competed on the tough, undulating course at the Schools at Somerhill last week. There were some great individual runs, especially Serena Manca in ninth in her second race in two days and Ed Lindsay in eighth.
At the British Schools’ Championships we had the following results.
- U15 Boys Épée – silver
- U15 Girls Foil – silver
- U18 Boys Foil – 9th
Piero Steiner won gold at the Surrey championship (team event). He also went to Terni for a national cadet event. His result there placed him in the top 30 per cent in Italy, which qualified him for the prova giovani in Rome on 17 March.
The U16s are the new Tier 3 national champions; a phenomenal achievement. Huge congratulations to all players and their coaches.
The U14s finished fifth at the national finals, capping a brilliant hockey season.
Gwendolyn Liu has been selected to play for the Chinese U19 lacrosse team at the world cup in Canada in August.
Well done to our U13 netballers who retain their county title. This is the fourth year in a row we have won the U13 title and this group of girls were also U12 county champions.
The U18 Sevens reached the Reigate Tournament bowl quarter-final, but lost to Berkhamstead and the U14s lost in the plate final to Brighton at Cedars School.
David Maule achieved a total of three bronze medals, in the 400m IM, 200m breaststroke and 100m breaststroke at the Sussex Championships.< Back
