Sporting Highlights

Cricket

Invicta Cricket held an excellent masterclass in bowling at the Sennocke Centre; our students really benefited from insights from Stuart Meaker (England) and Stuart Barnes (Surrey assistant coach).

Cross country

The senior girls’ team retained the King Henry VIII relay title, an extremely prestigious event and another great success following the Knole Run earlier in the term.

Fencing

Amelie Tsang came 61st from a field of 183 and Woser Prossor 140th from a field of 266 at the Challenge Cup in Paris.

Netball

Well done to our U14 team who won the Birley’s tournament at King’s Canterbury, beating Brighton College in a tense final 10-9.

Swimming

At the beginning of half term, several students won medals at the 200IM and Sprints weekend at the London Aquatic Centre:

  • Emily Brown: silver 50m breaststroke
  • Kara Dimond: silver 50m breaststroke 
  • Louis Hayes: gold 200m IM, gold 50m butterfly, gold 50m breaststroke, gold 50m backstroke, gold 50m freestyle 
  • Zac Raymond: bronze 50m freestyle 
  • Ellie Vowell: gold 50m freestyle, silver 50m butterfly, silver 50m breaststroke
  • Elspeth Watson: silver 50m backstroke, silver 200m IM, bronze 50m freestyle
  • Stephen Yeap Weller: silver open 50m freestyle, bronze 50m freestyle

Tennis

Congratulations to the senior girls and boys teams who have qualified for the national finals in Bolton after brilliant performances in the regional final round.

Oscar Brown won the U16s and U18s singles and doubles at the Bromley Tennis Centre spring tournament.

Outreach and holiday camps

The Sennocke Centre ran some excellent football, rugby, netball, squash and multi-sports camps in half term with great success. We also hosted a coaches’ forum before half term which many local clubs attended.
