Home Counties Coordinating Committee New Zealand Match

Congratulations to Cecilia Catuogno-Cal, Gabriel Shaft, Sasha Radkovskii and Anastasia Spiridonova who were selected for the Home Counties Junior shooting team against the New Zealand Juniors.

Inter-Home County Carey Salver Junior Competition

Cecilia and Gabriel were also selected to shoot for the Kent Junior Squad in this year’s Carey Salver Competition.

This competition has been dominated by Kent who had won it successively for six years until we were beaten by on point last year by Hertfordshire. In the seven-person squad, where the best five scores count, Sevenoaks School has enjoyed 42 out of 49 selections over the seven years. This year our two shot very solidly and between the three schools we brought the Salver back to Kent against all the other Home Counties, a true team effort with one of Kent’s highest team scores in the last five years.

1st, Kent = 1450
2nd, Surrey = 1442
3rd, Middlesex = 1408
4th, Hertfordshire = 1382
5th, Essex = 1368

Several of our shooters have been selected for the Kent County junior teams for the National Smallbore Rifle Association county leagues:

A Team: C Catuogno-Cal, Sasha Radkovskii
B Team: Anastasia Spiridonova
C Team: Gabriel Shaft, Alberta Leonard
It is very early days and a long way to go in terms of where these teams will finish in their division.

Despite over a year without a shooting range, our small but dedicated school squad is still able to have a decent presence in the Kent County teams, and with our new range we hope to improve still further.
