Junior Knole Run 2015

A crisp, sunny afternoon in Knole Park provided a stunning setting for this year’s prestigious Junior Knole Run on Friday 20 November. The races are for athletes in Years 6, 7, and 8, with the courses a demanding combination of hills, flats and – naturally in cross country – the odd bit of mud! With 237 runners in the girls’ race, and 324 in the boys’, the competition was always going to be extremely tough and all athletes put in commendable performances in such a large field.

The girls’ race was comfortably won by Abigail Ives from the Coopers’ Company and Coburn School in a time of 10.09mins, with Maisy Rose from Conham Hall in second (10.21mins) and Roos van Druten in third (10.21mins).

In the team standings, Walthamstow Hall put in a superb team effort to take first place with just 58 points, Putney High School in second with 86 points and St Catherine’s School in third with 88 points.

In the boys’ race RGS Guildford’s Sam Martin ran a superb 14.35mins race to take first place, Fin Croll from Yardley Court took second in 14.50mins, and Matthew Taylor from Skinners’ School came third with a time of 15.03mins.

The boys’ team results saw Yardley Court in first place with an incredible 21 points, The Cooper’s Company and Coburn School with 78 points, and RGS Guildford in third with 89 points.

Sevenoaks School would like to congratulate all competitors on their fine achievements, and also thank Lord Sackville and the Knole Estate for the use of Knole Park to host the event
