Lower Sixth student Lachlan Edwards has successfully raised £5000 for Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees following the violin and piano benefit recital he organised.
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event or donated.
Lachlan performed with pianist Maria Tarasewicz, saying afterwards, ‘Maria and I were very appreciative to share an afternoon of music with such a diverse group of Sevenoaks residents. We were inspired by and grateful to have refugee families, volunteers of Sevenoaks Welcomes Refugees, families of friends from school and local residents with us.
'The tremendous support we have received for this benefit recital has meant so much to us, and we very much hope that our contributions to SWR will help the refugee families in their journey with starting a new life.’
The programme included Beethoven's sonata No. 7 for piano and violin in C minor (Op. 10 No. 3), and Franck's sonata in A major for violin and piano.< Back
