A team of seven Year 7 students went to the Inter-Schools Bridge Tournament at Weald Community Primary School on Friday 18 May. The students had only been learning to play bridge since last October and faced competition from many who had been playing for two years or more.
They acquitted themselves very well and one of the Sevenoaks pairs, Archie McCulloch and Frank Qi, came second – an excellent achievement. All seven learned a great deal from their first experience of competitive bridge.
“At the bridge tournament we met several opponents and had a great day playing some top quality bridge. We played 16 other pairs altogether and some were experienced bridge players who had been playing for a long time.”
