Jackie Hendry: Music Teacher

After pursuing a career as a bassoon performer in Scotland, Jackie moved to Sevenoaks and has taught at the school as a peripatetic bassoon teacher since 1986, joining the academic teaching team in 2002. She was responsible for bringing the Javanese Gamelan to the school on a government grant in 2000 and runs a weekly gamelan workshop programme for local primary schools. She has a particular interest in youth music and is an active supporter of local music-making.
