Monday 3 June – Chiddingstone Evensong
The second half of term kicked off with Sennocke Consort’s trip to Chiddingstone to perform evensong in St. Mary the Virgin Church. The church’s beautiful surroundings were matched by a stunning evensong by the Sennocke Consort, including Bruckner’s Locus Iste and Sheppard’s Christ our Paschal Lamb. Following this, the consort enjoyed a meal together followed by Mr Heighway’s enthusiastic tour to the Chiding Stone – after which the village is named!

In the second half, Mr Heighway led his last performance with the Chamber Choir, who sang a setting of Eva Cassidy’s ‘Over the Rainbow’ and Cy Coleman and Dorothy Fields’s ‘The Rhythm of Life’ perfectly. Exam Results
The music department has also had a tremendously successful term of singing and instrumental exams, with ABRSM, Trinity and LCM exam sessions. The Trinity and LCM exams were particularly fantastic, with all students gaining either a merit or a distinction – an incredible achievement! This includes 3 Grade 8 Distinctions and a DipLCM Diploma. Well done to all of the students involved!
