Prep Schools Carousel

On 25 February and 3 March, we were delighted to have welcomed teachers and choir members from six local prep and primary schools to our department for a fantastic afternoon of choral workshops. Later in the evening, under the direction of our music department team, the schools were joined by the Sennocke Consort for a brilliant performance of Faure’s Requiem, their own choice pieces, as well as Mr Dyer’s original song Don’t Steal Our Future.

Pro Corda Chamber Music Semi Final

After a very successful first round just before half term, 15 of our chamber groups were selected to move on to the next stage of Pro Corda competitions which took place on 27 February. The adjudicators were extremely impressed by their musical understanding, technical skills and collaborative spirit.

Chamber Musicians’ Platform

Throughout the years our department has acquired a formidable reputation for chamber music. Friday 28 February marked the beginning of our Chamber Music Series, featuring performances of more than 60 of our students in the Pro Corda Festival. Given the large number of talents, one concert is simply not enough! Two equally wonderful evenings of chamber music making also took place on 3 and 5 March, showcasing performances by piano trios, saxophone quartets and other various instrumental combinations.

ABRSM Examinations

Good luck to all candidates awaiting their results from the ABRSM theory exams and taking practical music exams in two weeks’ time.
