Ten of our prospective Lower Sixth law students spent a day at the offices of London solicitors, Farrer & Co on Wednesday 17 June. The aim of the visit was to give the students a taster of working life in a London law firm.
The students met partners, associates and trainees at Farrer’s and were given an insight into the firm’s different practice areas. They then played a negotiation game, where they honed their communication and listening skills.
In the afternoon, they were given a tour of the Royal Courts of Justice and learnt about the progression of a case through the courts. They also had the opportunity to sit in on a trial. All in all, the day was a great networking and educational opportunity for the students and we hope to able to run the event again next year.
