On Thursday 9 November we invited 6 local schools and our Lower School students to watch the ancient art of Kathakali, performed by The Kala Chethena Kathakali Company.
Kathakali is the classical dance drama of Kerala, south India. It is part of the endless evolution of Asian storytelling using Mudras, an ancient sign language, characters, complex facial expressions and stunning costumes and make-up. These remarkable stories based on Hinduism expose human relationships, community disputes and the eternal search for spirituality.
