Return to school

The school continues to work diligently in response to Covid-19 and we are following UK Government advice, as well as monitoring guidance from the World Health Organisation. The school has also worked closely with our medical team and the school doctors, as well as taking advice from linked associations, such as the Boarding Schools’ Association and the Independent Schools Council.

We have introduced control measures that are now part of our everyday life during the Covid-19 pandemic: this includes robust hand and respiratory hygiene, social distancing, enhanced cleaning, and the use of face coverings where necessary.

BSA Charter

Sevenoaks School is recognised as one of the Boarding Schools Association’s Covid-Safe Charter Schools. We have have adopted the BSA Covid-Safe Charter and comply with all government rules and guidance.

Be Covid Safe

Our Be Covid Safe Handbook provides a comprehensive guide for students, parents and staff returning to school, detailing the safety measures we have in place across campus. A copy of this handbook can be found on Firefly.

Risk Assessment

In April 2020 the school prepared a risk assessment for the re-opening of the school. This has been kept under continuous review as UK Government, PHE and WHO advice has evolved.

The risk assessment covers the whole site and specialist areas, all aspects of the school’s operations and considers special measures for vulnerable members of our community. Staff have been consulted in the process.
