Our Upper Sixth students have received an impressive range of offers from UK, US and international universities to date.

US Universities

A total of seven early offers have been made to early applicants to prestigious American institutions, including two early offers from Stanford, one offer each from Chicago, Barnard College, UPenn, NYU and the University of Ilinois (Urbana-Champaign).

This early application round for the US is a highly competitive entry point – early US applicants are the best in the world and the most able and motivated students globally. The university acceptance rate at Stanford is typically less than five per cent. In the Times HE World University Rankings five of those six universities are in the top 20 US institutions and top 36 worldwide.

UK Universities

Students applying to UK universities have been successful in their applications to some of the most competitive institutions including UCL, LSE, Imperial, Durham, Oxford and Cambridge. We are delighted that a total of 49 offers have been made to our students by the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, with 15 offers from Oxford and 34 from Cambridge. Students were made offers for a range of courses, including 19 offers for STEM subjects.

In addition 42 offers have been made by UCL, 20 by Imperial, nine by LSE, and 78 by Durham.

Our 19 applicants for Medicine have received 28 invitations to interview. Already seven students have offers to read Medicine, at a range of Medical Schools including UCL, Plymouth, Oxford, Imperial and Bristol.

Two students have been awarded a President’s Undergraduate Scholarship at Imperial College London. In addition, one of them has been shortlisted for the most prestigious pre-admissions award at Imperial: the Ceres Power Scholarship. Scholarships have also been awarded by Bocconi University in Milan, the Royal Academy of Music and the School of Art Institute of Chicago.

The current UCAS cycle for offers is still incomplete and final outcomes are not likely to be known until the end of March. However, many congratulations go to all of our students who have so far achieved an exceptional level of success with their university offers.

The IB enables all of our students to progress onto some excellent university courses. Based on the 2016 entry data, our students went on to study at 16 out of the top 20 universities in the world.
