This week we have been incredibly thankful to the charity Empathy Action. Volunteers visited the school and set up a simulation to give Sevenoaks students the opportunity to try to understand what life is like for a refugee. The Desperate Journeys simulation involved a walk through tunnels, facing different challenges a refugee may face, such as meeting soldiers at borders and choosing between paying for passage on a cheap dinghy or an expensive boat. The experience aims to help us try to understand the global refugee crisis happening today and to remind us of what we can do for others.
