Share article:

On Friday 3 March we invited two academics to speak to our Lower Sixth students about their universities and unique degree programmes, Dr Mike Dobson FSA, Director of the Flexible Combined Honours Degree at Exeter, and Dr Colin Crowder, Director of the Combined Honours programme and Deputy Head of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Durham University.

They spoke about their prestigious and challenging Flexible Combined Honours and Liberal Arts courses which develop added value, depth of understanding from multiple perspectives, transferable skills, learning agility, research skills and problem-solving skills.

Both Dr Dobson and Dr Crowder spoke very positively about the IB, explaining that IB students are natural researchers and problem-solvers thanks to the Extended Essay. In particular IB students suit multidisciplinary degrees, including combined honours and liberal arts degrees.

The vote of thanks was given by Prangan Tooteja, and James Armitage and Ben Alderton introduced our guests.
