Performing Shakespeare competition
Huge congratulations to Marcel Steinbauer-Lewis (Y10) who won the English Speaking Union’s national Performing Shakespeare legacy competition.
Marcel Steinbauer-Lewis (Y10) took part in the Grand Final of the national Performing Shakespeare legacy competition hosted by the English Speaking Union. The online competition was hosted especially for Year 10s who missed out last year due to the pandemic.
In the final, Marcel was met with strong competition from 15 other students across the country and performed brilliantly to earn the top spot in the competition. His powerful rendition of Richard II’s final soliloquy was a fantastic show of naturalism. Marcel has participated in the competition for the last three years and has been very involved in drama at school. The competition has shown how adept a student he has become with theatre-making and performance.
National Youth Theatre
Congratulations also to Middle School students, Krish Misra (Y9) and Olivia Pigram (Y10), who have both been accepted in the National Youth Theatre this year. They faced some tough national competition to earn a spot in one of the most prestigious youth ensembles in the world.
