This week students, staff and parents have been donating various items for an international organisation called Salut-Malawi. This charity aims to assist girls in sub-Saharan Africa who are prevented from attending school once they reach puberty, due to lack of access to sanitary products and underwear.
We are delighted to announce that we have donated: £900 for disposable sanitary pads; this is enough to buy 338 pads. We have also donated 300 bars of soap, 120 bras and 370 pairs of pants.
A big thank you to everyone who donated. This will make a significant difference to hundreds of girls in sub-Saharan Africa who should now be able to attend school more easily, and for longer.
