For the past term, the Design VSU team have been designing bird houses for Sevenoaks School in collaboration with the Environment Matters Society, run by Miss Bonsall. We have put the bird boxes up around the school and the EM Society have been monitoring them to see if they have been inhabited.
Students researched into local wildlife conservation areas and have collaborated with Eagle Heights Wildlife Foundation in Eynsford. It takes care of eagles, falcons, owls and bees. They decided they would like to design some bee hotels. They have also been building dormouse houses, after speaking to Sevenoaks Wildlife Trust, which is situated on a natural reserve with a lake and woodland.
