Chris Patten Talk

Current and former students were united at a talk given to the Oxford PPE Society on Thursday 9 November by Lord Patten. Chris Patten served as the last Governor of Hong Kong and, as MP for Bath, his roles included Environment Secretary and Chairman of the Conservative Party.

In his lively and fascinating talk, organised and hosted by Old Sennockian Alex Prior-Wandesforde at Queen’s College, Oxford, Lord Patten ranged across many issues, including Beijing-Hong Kong relationships, Brexit and the limitations of GDP as a measure for a country’s success.
