We are committed to educating students whom we believe are likely to flourish at Sevenoaks, regardless of their means. The award of a bursary takes into account both the financial circumstance of an applicant’s family and the applicant’s performance in our entrance tests and interviews.
In order to support families through the application process and throughout the students’ time at the school, we have appointed two members of staff with specific responsibility for families who receive financial assistance with the school fees. They are introduced below.
Rachael Campbell: Lower School contact
Rachael Campbell is Assistant Divisional Head of the Lower School as well as being an experienced Lower School tutor and long-standing member of the English department. Rachael will be the main point of contact for the parents of bursarial pupils in the Lower School and is there to ensure a smooth and enjoyable transition to life at Sevenoaks for the bursarial pupils themselves. Her email address is email@example.com.
Alex Smith: Middle School and Upper School contact
Alex Smith is Head of Economics and has taught at the school for many years. He is a former Boarding Housemaster and Middle School Divisional Head and Alumni Staff Liaison. Alex will be the main point of contact for the parents of bursarial pupils in the Middle and Upper School and is there to ensure a smooth and enjoyable transition to life at Sevenoaks for the bursarial pupils themselves. His email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Rachael Campbell and Alex Smith will be available to help you from your first contact with the school. There is a session on financial support at our Open Mornings when the process for the award of financial assistance will be explained to you, and Rachael and Alex will answer your questions. You should feel free to email them if you have any questions about financial assistance during the application process, details of which are on the Admissions pages of our website.
Rachael and Alex will be involved in the selection of our bursary candidates and, on acceptance of a place, they will contact the parents of each bursary candidate to arrange a meeting to clarify any questions parents may have about school uniform, school trips, what is covered by the school and what will be additional and on the bill. You will be able to contact them if you have concerns of any kind, for example how your child is settling in socially and academically.
Rachael and Alex will meet regularly with your child until they have fully settled in, and although your child’s tutor will be your point of contact for most issues, Rachael and Alex will be working closely with them.
We hope to see you soon!
