Last Thursday, on behalf of Charity Action Group (CAG) we had an honor to invite Stephen Hale – the CEO of Refugee Action and an Old Sennockian, to tell us more about his charity and what he does. This year, together with CAG we have raised over £1,600 having organised the Big Sleep-out, in which more than 50 students have participated. Stephen told us an insightful story on why he had decided to commit his life to charity work, highlighting the importance of helping refugees today. Not only have we listened to what the Refugee Action charity does, but we also asked a lot of questions with regards to their future plans and, moreover, he consulted us on the methods of fundraising and charity work within our school. Stephen’s talk had an impact on all of us as it really emphasised the importance of what we do as Charity Action Group in school.
