We are delighted with the success of this year’s UCAS and overseas university applicants. Our students have received 784 offers from UK universities, including many from UCL, Durham, Bristol, Warwick, Edinburgh, St Andrew’s, Nottingham, KCL and Imperial. Our students had a 100% offer rate for the Universities of Exeter and York, with the University of Bath on 98%. The overall offer rate was very high this year at 72%. Additionally 57 students received all 5 offers, 109 received at least 4 offers and 141 received at least 3 offers.
This year 46 Sennockians made successful applications to Oxford and Cambridge colleges. The range of degree courses applied for by successful applicants was wide, with Science, Medicine, English, Geography, Classics, Modern Languages, Economics, PPE, Law, Philosophy, Maths, Archaeology and Anthropology, Computer Sciences, History and Human Sciences all represented.
Also this year record numbers of Sennockians have applied to universities overseas, with 37 students applying to top US universities and a further 30 applications made to other universities around the world. We have received offers from Yale(2), Princeton, Brown, Stanford, UCLA(2), Colombia(2), U Penn(4) and Berkeley(3) amongst many others in the US. The European and other international universities have yet to make final decisions about some of our applicants, but 7 students hold offers from McGill in Canada, 3 for the Bocconi University in Milan and several students received offers from universities in Hong Kong.
