U12 County Netball Champions

The U12 Girls have had a remarkable unbeaten netball season and their crowning achievement was an outstanding performance in the county tournament. They played and performed with great talent and skill. The girls breezed through the first round winning all seven of their matches convincingly. They continued on with a win in the second round, pushing them through to the quarter-finals where they beat Invicta 7-1.

Still unbeaten, the girls’ confidence and determination was growing and they played a great semi final against Colfe’s winning 12-1. The girls now had their sights set on winning the final. It was the closest match of the day with perennial rivals TWGGS the opposition. The girls played with great composure and discipline in the first half, resulting in a 6-2 score at half time. It was then a very tight second half which tested everyone’s nerve, but the 8-5 victory was well deserved.

Shooters Natasha, Cathrine, Lizzie and Octavia scored a total of 174 goals throughout the day and the defenders Josephine and Catherine only conceded 14 goals. The key players in the centre of the court were Amelia, Ellie and Freya all displayed great athleticism and agility, often turning the game around with their great anticipation and ability to snatch up intercepts.
