Learning is certainly not confined to the classroom at Sevenoaks School and one of the characteristics of the school is undoubtedly the number and range of trips and exchanges on offer. The school is international in its outlook and composition and that is reflected in the commitment to a lively programme of educational visits.
There are approximately 20 language trips in the average school year for pupils of all ages from the day trip to Boulogne for Year 7 to extended stays in France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Russia for those in the Sixth Form. There are also many opportunities for pupils to challenge themselves in outdoor pursuits such as the Duke of Edinburgh and Combined Cadet Force trips. Sport, Drama and Music tours also offer pupils the chance to stretch themselves, gain an insight into other cultures and have fun.
The belief in a truly broad education and desire to encourage pupils to be informed and active citizens are strengthened by the many subject-based and cultural trips on offer. These include a History trip to the First World War battlefields, Classics visits to Pompeii and Rome, a Geography Field Trip to Morocco and the Young Sox holiday in Greece.
