Following success at the Wood Awards, The Space has been awarded the trophy for ‘Best Education Building’ at the 2010 Brick Awards.

The Brick Awards is one of the longest established and most widely respected design awards in the UK, and recognises excellence in design and construction using brick. Trophies are presented annually to 15 projects selected from hundreds of entries. The architect/designer, brick manufacturer and specialist brickwork contractor are all acknowledged.

The Brick Awards judges found The Space to be ‘a delightful building’ and noted that it ‘exploits the topography of the site and therefore creates a number of external spaces and internal volumes that combine to make a satisfying composition’.
