Sporting highlights 23 February

The U14 Girls Badminton team won the county championships on the Friday before half term and progress to the regionals.

Cecilia Catugno-Cal and Anastasia Spridinova have been selected for the England B and England D shooting teams respectively.

Oliver Clinch has been selected for the Sussex U17 Rugby team.

Lily Snell and Emily Das had a fabulous weekend at the county swimming championships. Lily Snell broke 50m freestyle county sprint record for age 14 and age 15, and also won the Junior Cup (age under 17) and came second in the Open age group with a time of 26.52 in the final of the 50m freestyle. She is now ranked number 1 in England for age 14 for 50m freestyle. Emily broke the 100m breaststroke county record (age 12), coming first with a time of 1.17.26. She also came first in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 36.34. She is now ranked 7th and 9th in England for 50 and 100m breaststroke.
