Ski Trip to Val d’Isère

On Monday 26 March, 18 Lower Sixth students and three members of staff left Sevenoaks for a week's ski trip to Val d’Isère, France. The weather was excellent and we had six days of bright blue skies and intense sun. The temperatures were very high and although the snow was very good higher up, it did get very heavy lower down in the afternoon.

The ski guides were excellent and were more than happy to tailor the program to fit the needs and preferences of our students. The students were divided into groups according to ability and the guide for the lower group commented on how well the students’ skiing developed during the week. One of the guides made a special point of commenting at the end of the week on how much he had enjoyed teaching our students;  in his words, they were ‘extremely polite and respectful.’

The food was generally very good, with cooked breakfasts and three-course meals at night. On the Wednesday night we took the students out for a pierrade and fondue at a local restaurant. The students were all excellent company and we even bumped into an OS, now a barrister, in the restaurant. Overall a very successful trip, and a great time was had by everybody.
