For entry into the Sixth Form we look for evidence of strong all-round potential. Successful applicants will usually be predicted to gain top grades in most of their GCSEs or equivalent examinations. Sporting, creative or other talents are also important.

All subjects are taught in English at Sevenoaks School. Students must therefore have a high level of fluency in English, both written and spoken: between an Intermediate and Upper Intermediate level, equivalent to between B1 and B2 (CEFR);  ALTE level 2/3; or IELTS level 6. Formal language qualifications are welcomed but not required.

Candidates take entrance tests in each of their three proposed Higher Level subjects and in Mathematics (and, if this is not their native language, in English). Overseas candidates who cannot take the tests at Sevenoaks are expected to arrange invigilation at their current school or their local British Council offices.
